It’s the type of memory. It literally stands for Double Data Rate generation 4. There is ddr3 and ddr4 (this memory) and ddr5. Ddr5 is usually for video ram and ddr4 is faster than ddr3 for general ram. The exact speed will be dertermjned by the MHz but ddr4 is generally superior to ddr3 and ddr5 is for video cards not really for general memory.
