A:AnswerHello J, thanks for the question about the PhoenixM2. This system stays on as long as it is powered. The 7" display will always be visible so you can see any motion on up to 4 paired cameras.

A:AnswerGreat Question! These are the temperatures in which the cameras are tested. We use them year round in Canada and have temperatures that are much colder than this and the cameras have never let us down! In Winter, Spring, Summer or Fall you can count on Defender for the peace of mind that you deserve!
A:AnswerGreat questions, Linda! By clicking the "views" button on the front of the monitor you will be able to select the view that you would like including split screen! Thank you for being part of the Defender Family!
A:AnswerThank you for considering Defender, FarmGirl! The transmission range is 450 ft with clear line of sight with the optimum transmission range being 150 ft. With the PhoenixM2 you are sure to have the peace of mind that you deserve!
A:AnswerGreat question, Harry! When powered on the PhoenixM2 will show you live and in real time what the cameras are capturing. Thank you for considering Defender to give you the peace of mind you deserve!
A:AnswerThere is an SD card slot in the monitor for recording. It will hold up to a 128GB SD card. You have to set the system to record (in the menu settings) but it is easy to do and works. You can set it to monitor constantly or to only motion record. There are other systems available from Defender if you want to record with a dvr but you have to provide a monitor for viewing. We bought one of those, hooked it up to an old 13 inch TV and used it for a number of years until the wireless part of the system failed. We have 2 of these monitored defender systems running right now with SD cards for recording. One of these we have had for several years and it has been so dependable that we bought another - one for the front and one for the back. Invaluable for people who want to keep an eye on their property.
A:AnswerThanks Dee.
You wouldn't exactly "expand" a card. If you want to store more than the original card, you would need to buy a new, larger card. However, if you mean once the card is full, how do you keep recording, the system can overwrite the older footage to keep recording. If you want to see it on the computer or delete the footage there, you can take the SD card out of the monitor and put it in your computer, it would need a card reader which is built into some computers and most laptops, but you can get a USB adapter if not.
A:AnswerThank you for your question.
PhoenixM2 does not support multiple monitors per camera. Each monitor can support up to 4 cameras, but the cameras can only be connected to one monitor at a time.
A:AnswerGreat question G1964.
The playback feature can be located by pressing in the joystick, this will take you to a calendar view. For more information feel free to reach out to our customer experience team!
A:AnswerThanks for a great question! You have the option to either record continuously, overwriting older footage, or have the recording stop once the SD card is ful.
A:AnswerThanks for your question Bill. Do not have these cameras directly wired into your home wiring, you must use the included power adapter with an indoor power outlet. The total power cable length is 16ft with a disconnect at the halfway point.
A:AnswerHello and thank you for your question. The transmission range for this unit is up to 450ft maximum. These cameras must be used with a power outlet.
