The keyboard can get extremely hot when charging, but I haven't had it actually overheat even when gaming for over an hour. Most laptops will have this issue though. I can only recommend not to set it down on cloth or plush surfaces as most laptops that have fans pull air in from the bottom. Also, if you use one for more than a year, you should clean the fans as dust can build up and block ventilation as well, you can bring it a technician or look up a video on how to do so.
