It really depends on the size of your room, and how many channels that you are going to have. If you don't have Atmos, or don't plan on having them in the future, you may want to consider a 7.2 channel, like the X2600H to save some money. This receiver has 9 built in amps, so will run up to 5.2.4, but can process up to 11 channels with a 2 channel external amp to go to 7.2.4 in the future. I always say buy what you can afford, this receiver should last you at least 3 years, or until the new sound comes out that replaces DTS:X and Atmos.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The AVR you choose should really be based on the size of the room you plan to use it in and the type of speakers you plan on using with it. All of our AVR models will support at least 5.1 along with the latest HDMI specs. You want to make sure you have enough power to support the application. The X3700H will support a small to medium sized room in regard to power output.
