I have that battery and just powered on my RP and I can see the battery life icon on the screen so yes to that question. I have not tried the Canon charger for the Refuel battery but I have charged the Canon battery in the Refuel charger and it charged just fine. I don't see why you couldn't use either charger. I personally leave the Canon charger at home and carry the Refuel charger as it's smaller and easier to pack.
