Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have had many dyson vacuum and never had a problem with the batteries. This vacuum comes with a two year warranty. So if you had a problem they would send you a replacement. It also comes with two batteries. Once charge you should always remove the battery from being charged to help with battery life.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The battery will last for a good amount of time -- it depends on the setting you use. If you have the vacuum set to "medium" you can get a good 45 minutes of use. I have found the time to be perfectly fine for my home (2700 sq feet and four bedrooms). If you choose, you may use Eco or Boost settings, too, which the Boost uses more power and gives you less time. The vacuum DOES come with TWO Batteries, and they are VERY EASY to change. You just press a button and it pops out, and you can easily snap the other battery in. I am unsure the cost of a replacement battery, as the product comes with two batteries, which I feel is sufficient for most people and their homes. If you need a replacement battery in addition, I am sure you could order one via Amazon or also via Dyson's website. It will probably run you between $45-$85.

Over time the machine will naturally lose its run time but the level of degradation over the years is very small. Battery degradation is not a fault of the machine. It happens to all batteries in everyday items, such as mobile phones and laptops. Unfortunately, we are unable to advise how long each component will last in each individual's home. There are many factors that can affect the lifespan of a battery such as temperature and humidity, however, there are a couple of things that can be done in the way you use the machine. For example if you use the whole battery capacity in one run then you must leave the machine to cool for an hour or two before placing it back on charger. Also, try not to overuse the max power mode. This is a boost function so excessive use will limit its life span. A main contributor to battery degradation would be blockages. We advise washing the machine filter and checking the machine for blockages regularly. All of our cord-free machines have batteries that can be replaced, and we also have videos on the Dyson website as well, which will show you the easy steps to replace said battery.
