Instructions state to run the filter through cold water at least once a month! It’s the red cylindrical item inside of the chamber where your debris is stored before dumping!

The filter twists/ pops out of the top of the container - it is very easy to get at, clean, and replace.

Hi Bobbie, this is Krystal with Dyson. Thank you for your interest in the Dyson V6 Absolute. The Dyson V6 Absolute has 2 filters, one located in the top of the cyclone and the 2nd is on the back of the machine. Both can be removed and rinsed with cold water.
