2nd gen has 3 radio bands instead of just 2. Go to their website to find a comparison. No HDMI ports.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.1) The 2nd gen adds another wifi band 5.8Ghz that can be used for both devices or meshing. It also has a slightly better processor, better antennas, better cooling, and USB C port for power and a dedicated reset button. 2) Beacons plug directly into walls. They have a night light at the bottom. They don’t have ANY ports so they can only extend wifi. They only have the original 2.4Ghz and 5.2Ghz bands. They have a nightlight at night time. 3) No. The 2nd gen has ethernet ports and 1 USB port used for power. That is all.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.1) The main difference between 2nd gen and 1st gen is th new units have tri band support giving the mesh router an additional 5ghz band to run on for faster service. The boxes ar also much faster with better internals like the SoC which is faster. So all around the units are better. 2) The beacons are like the 1st gen units and are only dual band however they are smaller and allow easier placement 3) When you ask if the unit has a second hdmi port I assume you meant Ethernet. And yes the main units have two ports Ethernet ports however the beacons have none. Hope this helps.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Second gen is faster. Beacons are slightly slower and do not have internet jacks, but they do have a night light built in No Eros have hdmi ports. They do have Ethernet jacks--one of which could be used to plug in an internet phone.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.1) Eero claims twice the range and twice the speed. 2) The beacons do not have Ethernet ports - they cannot be used alone as the cannot be plugged into a router. 3) The 2nd generation (not beacon) have two Ethernet ports.
