That's a great question, Arlene! According to the use and care guide, it is normal to have water left in the fold of the flexible gasket. We would recommend after each wash cycle to dry the inside and around the gasket fold with a clean dry towel. Please do not leave the door ajar when there are small children or pets around as this could be a danger. If there aren't any children around, you may leave the door open to prevent odor build-up. You may locate these details on pages 32 and 47 of the manual. -Katrina
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hi, Arlene. Thank you for your question. On page 47 of the owner's guide we do recommend, at the end of each wash, dry inside of gasket fold with clean dry towel all around gasket. Also, leaving the door open for ventilation purposes. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I haven’t noticed any more water retention with this washer than with any front loader. It is always recommended to wipe the gasket dry after each load and leave the door open with any front loader to allow it to dry properly. This is my second Electrolux washer (replaced about a month ago) and I have been very pleased with this machine overall.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. In my experience with front loaders, you need to keep the front door open after every load to let the drum dry out. This machine has a built in bumper in the door to help keep it ajar ever so slightly, to help dry it out. There is some water left in the gasket, but again this is pretty typical for front load machines. Hope this helps.
