A:AnswerThe 5050UB has much better contrast/blacks.
However, you must have a light controlled treated room to properly take advantage of the better black levels.
If you don’t or can’t treat your room... in other words, if your room has white walls and ceilings, then get the 4010.
If you do have darker walls and ceilings, then get the 5050UB because your room can take advantage of the better contrast and darker blacks.
Aside from that, they’re virtually identical in color, lens, and features.
The 5050 can do 4K60hz HDR, whereas the 4010 can only do 4K24hz HDR. That mostly applies to gaming.
A:AnswerThere is little point in getting a projector in a room that small. The image is going to be as smaller, if not smaller, then a conventional television.
A:AnswerHello Jeetp. The Home Cinema 4010 replacement lamp is sold as a separate accessory. The product code for the lamp is V13H010L89. Regards, Kevin - The Epson Team.
A:AnswerYou have to use a receiver with HDMI pass thru - or a receiver with optical audio input. Unfortunately, it has no bluetooth and no audio outputs. Its HDMI or optical.
A:AnswerHi Fredrico, This is Eduard from Epson. To use the Epson Home Cinema 4010 4K 3LCD Projector over a wireless network, install the Epson 802.11b/g/n wireless LAN module (V12H731P02). Check the user's guide on how to install it. Hope this answers your inquiry! Regards, Eduard - The Epson Team.
A:AnswerHi Bluetooth, Your iPad will send both audio and video to the projector if you connect it via HDMI. But, if you use a VGA adaptor to connect the projector, it will transfer video only. Then you can pair your iPad to a Bluetooth speaker for sound. Regards, Mark - The Epson Team.
A:AnswerHi Jeff, The Home Cinema 4010 is designed for a typical home theater installation where video is sent to the projector and audio is sent to a sound system. The projector does not have internal speakers or an audio output port. If your setup is different, one option is to purchase an inexpensive HDMI audio extractor to split the sound from the HDMI signal and allow you to send the audio out via a cable. Regards, Mark - The Epson Team.
A:AnswerHi NOTHAPPY, The HC 5050UB is brighter at 2600 Lumens versus the HC 4010 at 2400 Lumens. Use an HDMI 2.2-compatible cable to connect the projector. Either projector will work with a laptop for presentations. Both of these projectors are designed for home theater use, so they do not have built-in speakers. For audio, you must connect external speakers, a dedicated sound system, or use your laptop speakers. Epson business, classroom, and portable home projectors typically have built-in speakers. Regards, Mark - The Epson Team.
A:AnswerHello Steven. The Home Cinema is compatible to work with Epson RF 3D glasses (ELPGS03).
Unfortunately, there are no alternate suggestions. If you can find the original glasses, the correct part number is V12H548006. Regards, Kevin - The Epson Team.
A:AnswerYes so no HDR on streaming. I bought the epson 3800 but returned it because it has a terrible lens. Everything looked great in the middle but blurry on the outside...switched for the 4010...loved everything about it except the 4k 30hz. Movies on a 4k player using a disc look amazing but streaming anything looked 1080p ish. Took it back for a benq 3550 and love it. If u can afford it 5050ub all day especially if you have a bright room. But under $2000....benq ht3550 with nvidia shield and blackout blinds.
A:AnswerHi Vini, You should get a 16:9 screen to match the Home Cinema 4010's native resolution. The projector can internally resize to 4:3, so if you want 2.35:1 you would have to resize at the source. Regards, Mark - The Epson Team.
A:AnswerIf you operate your Epson 4010 on the brightest setting, the fan does make some noise, but is tolerable. On the low or medium settings, it is very quiet and hardly noticeable, even during quiet movie scenes. I always operate my 4010 on medium since it is very bright on that setting and I can also preserve some bulb life.
A:AnswerThis Projector is huge, it weighs 26 pounds. Honestly a smaller DLP unit would be better for travel use. But again it depends on the screen size, light desired and how much is to much for you to carry around. I would not carry this hulk around, but it is bright and can throw a large screen so it's up to you.
A:AnswerThe new Epson 5050ub has been tested to be around 28ms input lag, which is pretty darn good. Not going to be a dedicated gaming monitor or some TV's, but it's on par with most TV's out there. Unless you're a pro player that refresh rate will suffice. I used to game on my Sony projector which was rated around the same, and I played Call of Duty very competitively online all the time, with no issues.
A:AnswerHello Ravi. Yes, you can make vertical keystone adjustments to the Home Cinema 4010. The option is available under the Settings > Keystone. Regards, Kevin - The Epson Team.
