according to research i have seen on this question and that i don't see any capability within the app to do so. The answer is: No, you cannot set it up to do automatic recording for a length of time, it only records off of a trigger and there is a certain length of time you can record once triggered.

At night you can get vivid color shots but requires light or it’s own camera light can be used when motion activated. I do not use this mode if camera is easily reachable. That way perpetrators do not have access to camera. I suggest use night vision mode. It will render recording with the black/white mode but less likely of giving camera location away. Sound alarm locally, indoor, and phone can be issues. You can turn audio off or set times when you want it on. So at home I am alerted only by phone app. When away I have internal (home base unit) to sound. Also have it on during sleeping hours. Again, I do not use external audio alarm to prevent location of camera to where they are hidden. There are other features available I do not use. Having it sent to a third party to monitor is an example. This way no monthly fee. I can still monitor and record using sensor motion and control and monitor via app. Overall, if you want night color with great picture results, this camera is very good. Home base can have more cameras added and memory extended. For a simple 2-8 (I think 16 is max Mimi’s) of cameras this is excellent since most homes are maybe 3 or 4 cameras. Usually front door or doorbell, maybe up to the driveway to home. Maybe two in the back to cover back and basement doors. Very wide angle range. I have one pointed out toward backyard. Some coyotes were recently seen. It was confirmed with camera.
