Only if you put it in workout mode (holding the button on the side till you see the counter start up). Then, once you are finished, you will need to hold the button again to stop. Then go into your Fitbit dashboard and change the activity to stationary bike.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It's not super accurate tracking miles on a treadmill I'm going to assume similar issues will exist on a stationary bike but you can set the timer, and do your bike ride, then stop the timer and it will show you your heart rate for that period of time and heart rate really should be the workout goal not distance. Maintaining your ideal workout heart rate for 'x' number of minutes is what's important, doesn't really matter how far you went.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No, it counts your movements when legs and arms are moving. I did a spin class and for a few songs took my arms off of the handles and moved them like walking but not great for certain exercises as far as tracking steps.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Not really. I have found two ways that I can get around this. The first is to put the Fitbit Charge around my ankle, it just barely fits but it still tracks my heart rate. The second is to rest my arm that my Fitbit is on against my leg so that attracts the movement of my leg.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It will not track stationary bike pedal strokes from your wrist. But what I do when spinning is I take it off my wrist and loop it around one of the straps on my biking shoes. You obviously need to have shoes that have straps that will allow you to loop the Fitbit around them
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It definitely tracks your heart rate but (unless you move excessively) doesn't keep track of steps. However on a real bike (where I guess there is more movement) each pedal stroke is measures as a step.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I tried this on 10 mile bike ride and it did not register. Have not tried it on a stationary bike. Have you had any success?
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Mine will detect "active minutes" - visible on a line graph. I usually log on and input type of activity on specific date and time period so that it can log it correctly. It then links the active minutes to the activity input.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have found it very accurate on an elliptical if I run it through my shoe laces. It will not fit around my ankle. The steps tracked by the tracker are very similar to what the machine says, whether the machine is right or not I can not validate. I have watched and the steps are accurate to the number of times my feet go up and down. I would assume it would be the same on a stationary bike.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Put the fit bit in your pocket when riding the bike and it will track your exercise.
