Yes, the directions for stopping or lowering the volume are: 1) Press the Clock Settings button twice. 2) Op-2 will display. 3) Press the START button . The display will then rotate automatically every 2 seconds through Lo (LOW), nor (Normal), Hi, and OFF. When you see the one you want, press the START button to confirm.
