QuestionIts a new purchase. How do i get started?

- Answer I bought it as a gift. When I got mine there was a USB cord. I merely connected to my laptop ad logged into Garmin. They downloaded the maps for USA - you will get most current download of maps. Once complete - just plug into port (cigarette style plug on mine) -turn on device.- their menus are described in booklet and on screen

QuestionHow many Destinations can be input? Does it optimize the destinations to show a convenient route?

QuestionCan you turn it off when you don't need it? If so, will this turn off the wireless radiation? How much radiation is emitted when it is on?

- Answer A quick push of the power button puts it into a standby (my definition) mode, however if you push and hold the power button for about 5 seconds a pop up window asks if you want to shut it off. Clicking "yes" it appears to totally shut it down, I know my battery lasts much longer by shutting it down that way. Also when you turn it back on it's a fresh start, meaning it doesn't immediately display the "where to" screen.

- Answer The only “plug and play” option I think this unit is capable of, is that of your vehicle having a cigarette lighter-type plug on or near the dash so you can power it up. Don’t believe this unit is capable of any other secret ring-knocker type communications capability.

- Answer The Garmin-Drive 52 5" GPS will hold at least 20 addresses. You can even use it hiking in woods and marking hunting stands for safe returns to your vehicle!

- Answer Not sure. I doubt the plug would fit in your phone. I always used a laptop, and sometimes it took a long time to download.
