It is rated by Garmin as "waster resistant to 5atm", which translates to the pressure equivalent of being submerged to around 165 feet. However it is not sufficient for scuba diving or other such activities. It is perfectly fine for wearing in the shower or swimming at normal depths in swimming pools and such. I rarely take mine off and routinely wear it in the shower, swimming in the pool, and have even worn it in the ocean on my recent beach vacation.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I understand that people DO use the Vivofit in the shower & pool and even the "official" Garmin rep answer above says it's ok. What I don't understand is why then does the Safety and Product Information sheet that comes with the device (the one nobody reads) clearly state under Battery Warnings "Do not immerse or expose the device or batteries to water or other liquids..." C'mon Garmin, which is it?
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes I do daily.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.i have not wore it in the shower but it is supposed to be waterproof. ive seen a video with it being submerged in glass of water.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, unlike the other bands that are only water resistant, the Vivofit 2 is fully waterproof. I have showered many times with it with no problem. I understand that you can even swim with it but I have not tried that yet.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The Garmin vívofit is 5 ATM water resistant. Meaning it withstands pressures equivalent to a depth of 50 meters. You would be able to bathe and swim with this device. Best regards. ~QKO
