Yes you can purchase a new battery from The Garmin website

The vivofit jr. 2, like the vivofit jr. 1, has a user replaceable battery that can be changed when the battery runs out. The battery is designed to last up to one year. The vivofit jr. 2 uses a CR1632 battery. It takes a watch battery that you can easily find in many stores. I did buy the protection plan however, more so because my son is hard on his stuff than b/c I'm worried about the battery.

I believe it’s a watch type, self replaceable battery. I believe the package or website has that info also
