Yes, exact same thing happened on my unit. Outlet/Switch were confirmed not to be the issues. Seems like a lot of these die within the first few years and the recommendation is to buy a new one vs. servicing the existing problem. I am extremely hesitant to try again based on the comments here - will need to find one that fits the same area.

You can schedule an appointment with a GE Appliance technician by calling 1-800-432-2737. However, with microwaves, it tends to be more cost effective to purchase a new one rather than repair.
