It may work but it is a bit tricky. Normally, an HDMI output contains the audio and the video from the PC. In some cases, you can use the sound applet (in the Control Panel) to direct the audio to the PC audio and speakers instead. Then you can listen through headphones, PC built-in speakers or through a cable to a receiver and speakers. On a Windows 7 PC, you look for Hardware and Sound in the Control Panel, selecting Sound and "Manage audio devices." The HDMI output will be selected by default if you plug in an HDMI cable into your laptop, but you should also be able to select Speakers.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. There are two ways. 1 is to have a converter where it breaks the hdmi into a video and audio splitter. Video to the monitor and then audio to an external speaker. 2 you can plug speakers into your PC and use that as your audio.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.No. The Google Cast streams both digital audio and video via the HDMI interface. Your monitor would have to have internal speakers and circuitry to process the data into analog audio. There is no cheap workaround.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Either direct from output source which isn't possible since Chromecast is that or through surround sound. Either way the device you have monitor plugged into has to have either an audio output (could be to another device like computer or RCA outputs, etc).
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The original source trasmit the video and sound directly to the chromecast and those would then transfer to the monitor via the HDMI hook up. It sounds like you would either have to check if your monitor would allow for external transmission of the sound or opt for a TV instead, as the original source would not play the sound. Hope that helps.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.no workaround without using some other device. The HDMI port will play sound however your monitor does not have the ability to play the sound. If you have a receiver, you could connect the chromecast to the receiver as an input. From the receiver, you could connect speakers for sound and connect to the monitor for the picture. If you don't own a receiver with speakers, the cheapest option would be to purchase a monitor that has speakers.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I believe you would need to plug external speakers to the monitor as there does not appear to be a way to separate the playback of the sound from the streamed content. I occasionally play DVD content on a monitor with no speakers, but it does have a stereo headphone/speaker output.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Unless your monitor has speaker inputs like on some dell units, no!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If this is a computer monitor, the only thing you can do here is get some speakers to connect to your computer. A simple 2.1 set should be fine. Logitech brand is nice for computers. Shouldn't need to pay more than $50-$60 for a decent set.
