A:AnswerHave in mind that this is NOT an Air Conditioner. It is an Air cooler. All you would need is to fill the tank with water and plug in the unit to power on.
A:AnswerHoneywell does not make any of their swamp coolers anymore. They sold the name to a 3rd party who makes inferior products but slaps the Honeywell name on it. Honeywell will not provide any assistance or service if you have any problems, they basically could care less. And the 3rd party Jmatek is basically useless as well. I would not recommend any Honeywell product at this time because Honeywell no longer oversees the manufacturing or quality control. My honeywell leaked all over and ruined my hardwood floors so I am out floors and $300 bucks. Just save yourself the hassle and go with any other brand or tolerate being hot, its better than a Honeywell!
A:AnswerHello, thank you for your inquiry. Yes, the fan mode can operate without water in the unit. Pressing the MODE button until Fan is illuminated switches the unit to a fan only mode, without evaporative cooling.
A:AnswerHI Marc,
There is no vent or hose vent required. Unlike an air conditioner, no compressor or refrigerant gas is used to cool the air like an air conditioner. Evaporative coolers use the natural process of Evaporation to cool. All that is required is to add water to the tank. It is recommended to keep windows/ door open for adequate circulation of the moist air that is produced from the air cooler. Please note that air coolers cool best in warm, dry locations as the temperature drop is higher with drier air.
A:AnswerHello ! Thw water tank capacity for this unit is 6.6 gallons. The frequency with which you will need to fill up the water tank depends upon factors such as hours of uninterrupted usage, temperature conditions and so on. Our customer support team will be able to assist with more information. Please feel free to write to us at [email protected]. Thank You !
A:AnswerOur portable evaporative air coolers cool the area using the natural process of water evaporation. The water that is filled inside the water tank, evaporates when the unit is cooling the air. A:AnswerHi Dave ! Evaporative Air Coolers are not rated by BTUs like Portable Air Conditioners. This unit has 780 CFM airflow and up to 300 square foot cooling capacity. Air Coolers use the natural process of evaporation to cool down air versus air conditioning which requires a compressor and cooling refrigerant. They are more comparable to a fan, and should not be expected to cool like an AC. Air Coolers also work best in dry climates with humidity that is below 50-60%, and it is required that windows be open for cross-ventilation so that the warm and cool air can circulate. Feel free to send us an email at [email protected] if you have any additional questions.
A:AnswerWe do not recommend using our units with an extension cord, due to possible inconsistent power supply. Please feel free to write to us at [email protected] for any assistance or information. Thank You !
A:AnswerHello, only water is needed for this unit to function properly. If ice is available, you may add ice in the top ice compartment to enhance the cooling performance.
A:AnswerIt is not a portable a/c. It cools the room by humidifying the air via the fan using the ice water you put in the reservoir. It's pretty much just a fan that blows cooled humidified air.
