As of late Sept 2020, no place. A Honeywell point of contact (POC) admitted they've been selling this air purifier model for months but none of the S filters were available or even produced. POC said they will be manufactured and may be for sale in or by November.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.S FILTERS DO NOT "REPLACE" R/HEPA FILTERS. Physically, S filters are placed in direct contact with/over the intake side of each R/HEPA filter. If you use S filters, you will need three (3) for any 300 series purifier. S filters are made from the same activated charcoal as A/pre-filters. HRF-SP1 (pet) is activated charcoal treated w/ anti-microbial, hypoallergenic zeolite (mineral salt) - the exact same as HRF-AP1/HRF-APP1 pre-filter, but in a smaller form factor. HRF-SK1 (kitchen) is activated charcoal treated with potassium permanganate (KMn04) to better absorb kitchen solvents (but not cooking oil vapors). HRF-SC1 (renovation) is activated charcoal with a pelletized activated charcoal (increases available carbon surface area) enhancement to better absorb construction solvent VOCs like benzene, formaldehyde, toluene. HRF-SS1 (smoke) is activated charcoal with an as yet undisclosed enhancement for tobacco, dope, wood fire, etc smoke. NB: SS1 DOES NOT REMOVE CARBON MONOXIDE (CO) OR CARBON DIOXIDE (CO2). S filters are incapable of HEPA filtration. S filters absorb VOC vapors & help to control odors.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. In Mar2021 all S filters are available from honeywellstore.com. APP1 pre-filter is a thicker version of standard AP1 pre-filter. Both are activated charcoal & treated w/ anti-microbial, hypoallergenic zeolite (mineral salts). 3rd, "optional," physical layer of filtration can be introduced by using specialized S filters. S filters are placed immediately on top of already installed HEPA filters. 5300B requires 3 R/HEPA filters, so you would need 3 S filters to add the S layer. S filters are all activated charcoal w/ treatments. SP1, for pets, is treated w/ zeolite (same as AP1 & APP1 pre-filters) for dander & musky odors. SK1, for kitchen, is treated with potassium permanganate (KMnO4) for common kitchen solvents (but not cooking oil vapor). SC1, for remodeling, includes pelletized activated carbon to increase carbon surface area to improve absorb VOC construction solvents like benzene, formaldehyde. SS1, for smoke, has an as yet undisclosed smoke enhancement. Placing S filters in direct contact w/ R/HEPA filters forces the use of all S filter surface area to absorb VOCs/odors prior to final HEPA filtering before passing filtered air back into the room. In contrast, the larger AP1/APP1 pre-filters do not equally use their entire surface area to absorb VOCs. Honeywell has only tested S layer w/ 3 identical S types at a time. No one at Honeywell thought to test the 12 possible total mix&match S filter combos for clean air odor/VOC reductions. Keep in mind that the AQ sensor in the 5300B only measures VOC, not particulate, levels. You may need to manually select the level of airflow to clear dander & musky odors, because the VOC sensor will not regulate Auto mode for non-VOC particulates. I use Turbo mode to clear, then switch to Auto until the next need for Turbo. (Penny-wise & pound foolish of Honeywell not to include particate sensor along w/ VOC sensor.)
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. On the Honeywellstore.com site. Filter HRF-APP1 (A+). A large universal roll which you cut to fit. You can get 2 filters for the HPA5300B from the $17.99 roll.. This would replace the pre-filter. Don't know if they're going to come out with individual precut packages, or if there is a more "enhanced" version, but this sounds enhanced (VOC), carbon and zeolite. The S filters (4 different choices: home renovation, kitchen odor, pet odor and smoke odor are "coming soon". They replace the HEPA, not the pre-filter, so you would need 3 at 24.99 each. When I read the product description before buying the HPA5300B, I was under the impression it was an additional pre-filter. These do not say if they are HEPA or not.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I got an answer from Honeywell customer services. They hope to have the S filters available for sales by the end of this November.
