A:AnswerHi Simsimma! Thanks for your question. This model can be converted to a natural gas unit by using it's LP conversion kit. You can find the instructions for this conversion kit online at this link: https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=31-11148-2.pdf
We hope this helps! Emily
A:AnswerHi - Yes, all of our gas cooking appliances come ready to be connected to natural gas; however, they also come with an LP conversion kit to connect to LP (Liquid Propane). We recommend a qualified installer or servicer convert the gas range to the proper gas supply needed. The conversion must be in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions and all codes and requirements of the authority having jurisdiction. The conversion instructions are located in the wiring diagram (mini-manual) or included with the LP kit attached to the appliance near the pressure regulator. Check out Hotpoint® 1.6 Cu. Ft. Over-the-Range Microwave Oven RVM5160DHWW. Two-speed, 200-CFM venting system quickly removes smoke and steam from cooktop.
Thanks for choosing Hotpoint! Sue
A:AnswerHello - Thanks for reaching out to us. We are sorry to hear your oven keeps cutting on and off. Try disconnecting power on your range at the power source for about 30 seconds to reset the electronics. If this suggestion does not help, service is recommended. You can schedule an appointment with a GE Appliance technician by calling 1-800-432-2737. We apologize for any inconvenience it has caused. Thanks for checking. Olga@GEA
A:AnswerHi Jabsher, thanks very much for reaching out! When you select BAKE, the burner (glo-bar) below the floor of the oven is ignited; there is typically no top heat from the broil glo-bar while baking. In BROIL, only the top glo-bar is ignited. Most gas ovens are set up to broil with the oven door closed. When broiling it is not uncommon for the gas to cycle off and on, even if set at the 550 degree setting. This is normal and will not affect your broiling performance. The oven temperature light will also cycle on and off. This is also true of models with in-drawer broiling. Since this is a gas range, it would use a glo-bar in the oven. The cooktop burners use electrical ignition to light the gas as it comes out of the burner. We hope that this helps! Stay safe. -Michael
A:AnswerHi KAS - Thanks for viewing Hotpoint Model RGBS300DMBB! This range has a lower broiler drawer. The broiler is not in the main oven. This is listed under "Features". A:AnswerHi - Thanks for reaching out to us. We are sorry to hear about the difficulty you're having using your oven. It is possible the gas to the oven burners was inadvertently shut off. The oven gas shut-off is located on the gas regulator near the gas line attachment to your range. Locate it and flip the lever. A diagram of the regulator can be found on page 21 of the owner's manual which is available online.
If you continue to have difficulty, we recommend calling an authorized servicer to take a look at your range. If needed, you may call 1-800-432-2737 to schedule a service appointment to do so. We do hope this helps. Kind regards - Vikki@Hotpoint
A:AnswerHey there, and thanks for contacting us. We certainly understand your concern over making sure the oven is at the correct temperature. Depending on the specific model, our ranges may have a preheat indicator light, audible preheat signal, or there may not be a specific preheat indicator. If your model doesn’t have an indicator, we would suggest waiting approximately 10 to 20 minutes to allow the oven to preheat; this time can vary depending on your model. We hope this is helpful. If you have any other concerns or questions, we’re always happy to offer assistance – best wishes! -Sarah@GEA

A:AnswerHi,
This is an excellent question to ask. In the event of a power outage, it is possible to light the burners, however the oven will be inoperable and should not be lit. Have a great day! Mike@GEA
A:AnswerHi there,
Great question! This model gas range has what is called an automatic pilotless ignition.
The automatic pilotless ignition (also called automatic electric or automatic electronic ignition) eliminates the need to light the burners. It also saves money by using less gas than a standing pilot range. Because this system has no standing pilot light, no gas is being used unless it is needed. We hope this helps. Stay well! Mike@GEA
A:AnswerHello,
Thanks for asking! We appreciate the interest and we'd be happy to help. We found that this model has a broiler drawer, and not a broiler inside of the oven. Hope this helps!
-Sylvia@GEA
A:AnswerThis is a gas range which uses electricity only for igniting the burners; because its electricity demand is so low, it only needs a 15 amp or 20 amp circuit, with an outlet able to accept standard hot, neutral and ground prongs. The stoves you saw which require 40 or 50 amps are those which heat with electricity - a much higher demand - not with gas.
A:AnswerHi Irene! Thanks for your question. This model's overall width is 30". We're sorry for the inconvenience. If you have any further questions, feel free to reach out to us online at this link: https://www.geappliances.com/ge/service-and-support/contact.htm
