Best Buy tech guy said there is a bay to install a CD/DVD drive, but it has to be an HP product designed for this computer, and I have to get that drive it elsewhere, as Best Buy does not handle the item. Replies here from HP say that no such drive is available. But why have an empty bay, if no drive will be available?

That's terrible. How the heck am I going to burn CDs or create DVDs without one? We have an external CD/ROM drive, but don't want that on the desk. It's like they are designing backwards. Maybe I'll have a tech I know install a SSD and new sound card in my old Lenovo. $500 for one with less features than my Lenovo? No, thanks.

No. Computers usually don't come with them anymore. You can purchase an external DVD drive that will plug into a USB port though.

You can always use an external CD/DVD drive and plugging in this drive into one of its USB ports (in the same manner you would plug in an external hard drive or a USB flash drive).
