I'm having the same problem on a brand new insignia 4.5 top load washer and that noise has nothing to do with the hose. Any other ideas. It is really loud.

I agree with every single comment. I don't use it at night, sounds like someone is breaking into the house. Also, the continuous flashing blue light when the cycle is complete, doesn't go out until you open the door. Were it not for the loud disruptions, it would be a good machine. I won't buy another one!

Mine does the same thing but on the rinse cycle it drains water out and fills it again over and over. I recorded it. It was a total of about 14 minutes The whole time making the banging noise. Bestbuy replaced it so far 2 times because of this problem. 3rd time replaced was a cracked drum. Horrible purchase!!!

Yes this is so loud. After owning for 3 weeks it expelled water all over my laundry room. No repairmen can fix since it’s new so they are just replacing it. What a terrible washer

Yes! Not only does it makes the banging sound, my washer stopped draining and spinning too. Unfortunately, it is only three years old. I am purchasing a Maytag from Lowe’s today. Hopefully it will last longer than three years.

I've had my washer for about 2 months and had the same problem. One possibility given was water hammer so I bought a water hammer arrestor. Even after putting one of those on it still did it. Turning the water supply to the washer down helped some but.....
the thing that really helped was NOT using the braided stainless steel hoses but instead using rubber ones. So much better and now I don't dread when it's time to wash. I hope this info works for those of you with this problem.

It does it when the washer is filling with water. Mine does it. I have the hammer suppressing water hookup thing and mine still does it. I wonder if it might be related to the little metal screen gasket things that come with the washer. I think when my husband is home this weekend I will have him replace them with just the regular rubber washers that came with my hoses to see if that helps.

I am having the same issue with banging pipes! The rinse cycle comes on and off so often that the pressure I guess is causing the loud banging and I mean loud. I’m afraid to the washer now.

I am having the same issues.  I had a unit replaced 2 days ago and the second one is doing the same thing.  I was told it's a problem with a water valve, but the parts are so backlogged that they moved to replace.

Same problem... brand new machine. very disappointed. I am a total best Buy client. Hammer water suppressor is a general online solution. But that involves spending 75 -85 dollars for both lines, and a plumber if you want it done right. None of my neighbors have any issues with their water/ or washing machines and banging in between fills. So, here we go again. If it keeps up its going back and BB can replace it with a superior machine. I am getting fed up, with a brand I trusted for years.

Yes!!  Brand new machine and I get the bang when the water shuts and then starts... during filling in cycle. It is loud. fearing for a burst .. otherwise, the machine is nice. Online recommendations are a hammer water suppressor that attaches to the lines. Thats 75.00 dollars and a plumber. Hello?  We only wash with tap cold water. So, I will either tell Best Buy to take it back. or try that. We are Geek Squad members as well so we will see. Others are having the same problem. as I read.

I also noticed that bang noise. It happens when it is filling up. It is the hot water. It shakes my entire pipes. Doesn't happen when it is just cold water. Probably the design. We have Total Tech Protection so if its faulty we will get another one.

Yes. I have had 3 people to check it out and I still have they sound. The Best Buy maintenance service did nothing to help. It sounds like it as tearing up the house. I don't like the washer.
