We have the same problem almost daily or also no sound and no picture. We end up having to unplug the cable from the power strip and plug it back in then it will work. I called Insignia and when the support guy told me to move it from hdmi 1 to 2 it worked, but just that time. The next day I had to unplug the cable box again to get it to work.. Very frustrating.

I haven’t had any issues with my HDMI it works fine for my laptop, and hard drive. I would def call the company for a replacement or request them to send/recommend an HDMI.
