Q: QuestionMy tv does not have an audio jack but does have an arc hdmi, however my speakers I like are analog audio only. Will this work to connect my analog speakers to the arc hdmi port in my tv? Assuming I have the analog cables and hdmi cables of course.

• A:Answer I had the exact same issue. The short answer is no. I bought this HDMI audio extractor and connected it to my TV's HDMI ARC port to see if it could pull the audio stream from the TV and output it via the headphone jack. However, when I connected it, it received no audio stream from the TV. As it turns out, when a device is connected to your TV's HDMI ARC port, the TV will only output the audio stream via that port if the connected device is configured as an ARC receiver (like a sound bar or home theater receiver). If the device is not an ARC receiver, the TV will instead treat it as an input device. Unfortunately, this HDMI audio extractor is not configured as an HDMI ARC receiver, so the TV won't output sound to it over ARC.

Q: QuestionWill this make a karaoke machine with aux input work with a smart tv that only has HDMI ARC as on option for external speakers?

• A:Answer Yes. This is very similar to why I bought it. I connect an iPad to a projector hdmi. Using this audio extractor in the middle pulls the sound to an AUX input for auditorium speakers and prevents audio from coming from projector speakers.

• A:Answer Yes you will have both audio and video. I have a ps3 and I played sound from my speaker while using this product. The product comes with a rca connector to aux cable. So the only thing you need to worry is if you have the right components for the rca connector.
