• I have hard wood floors and I have not experienced this. I also use it every day because I have a dog.

• There's nothing on the underside or wheels of a Roomba that will scratch your floors.

• I think the mechanics on the bottom of them are pretty similar using plastic / rubber rather than brushes. I had an issue with it being too aggressive on a rug, but seemed to be ok on hard flooring
