So the Roomba would learn the home during training runs or cleaning missions. Which a training run would be just the Roomba navigating the home without cleaning. Which can be used to speed up the Roomba learning your home. Then once the map is ready to be completed. You would be able to go in and place dividers. Indicating where each room is on the map. And these dividers are able to be edited and moved afterward if you need to make adjustments. You can use Dual Mode Virtual Walls (and previous versions of our Virtual Walls) with the Roomba s9+. Which some people do use them when the map is being created. However once your Roomba has a created Imprint Smart Map. You would be able to set up Keep-Out Zones to keep the Roomba out of specific areas. You would also be able to send the Roomba to specific rooms if you only needed a specific area to be cleaned.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No walls needed, but it still will work with them should you need it. It maps out your house. You can label the rooms, set up clean zones like “in front of the couch” and keep away zones like pet water bowls or places it gets stuck. It also has sensors for stairs and drop offs so no need to set up anything for those.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The robot will travel all over the house and develop a map as it goes. It will need a few (3 or more) times to get the map completed. Once it's done you can go in through the app on your phone and designate areas as room and create virtual keep out zones if you want them. No need for the extra batter powered "virtual walls" this robot stores it's location and uses its' map to tell it where to go.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. After it has vacuumed a few times you can see the map of the room on your app. You create rooms/dividers so it vacuums just what you want it to vacuum with any new job. I use this alot in my open floor plan. It vacuums the kitchen and walkway every day at 1, and I can choose to only vacuum under the bar stools and table when I've moved the chairs away.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I also had an old Roomba that zigzagged all over the place. This new version maps out your home ( it took a while for mine as I have a large and pretty open floor plan) and once it's done mapping you can actually go into the map and put in your own barrier walls, "keep out" areas, and mark "extra cleaning" areas. So I found that I really don't need the virtual walls that you can purchase separately. You can also name the rooms in between the barriers and instruct the robot to only clean the rooms you choose. They've come a long way!
