The LG 10,000 BTU (SACC) / 14,000 BTU (ASHRAE) DUAL Inverter Smart Wi-Fi Portable Air Conditioner, Model # LP1419IVSM has to be vented to the outside to cool the room it is installed in so it requires a window. Portable air conditioners efficiently cool down specific rooms by extracting heat and moisture from the air, thus necessitating the expulsion of that hot air to maintain optimal functioning. This is why venting through a window is crucial for these units. Venting hot air outside not only enhances the cooling performance but also significantly improves energy efficiency. Without a proper venting system, the air conditioner will merely circulate warm air back into the room, leading to increased energy consumption and potential discomfort. A flexible exhaust hose and a window installation kit are included accessories with the air conditioner. The length of the exhaust hose is built to the product's specifications and cannot be extended, modified or replaced with your own longer hose. After installation, the Hose length is approximately 35.5" or less for best performance.
