There are two places lint collects. Lint collects around the rubber seal of the door, which is relatively easy to clean with a soft brush after each load. The other place is in the lint trap located in the bottom right corner of the machine. It will need drained before cleaning, and has to be spun out as it's threaded in. There is a section in the manual that tells you where exactly it is and how to clean it. How often it needs cleaning depends on what you're washing in the machine. I have run mine for a few months without needing to clean the trap. This includes washing several sets of brand new flannel sheets and the normal clothing load for a bachelor with a cat.

Model # WM3555HVA has a drain pump filter like most of our LG Front Load Washers that is located behind the drain pump access cover that is on the lower right corner of the unit. You can open the access cover to clean the drain pump filter periodically. The instructions for cleaning the drain pump filter are in the owner's manual. ^Chris
