Yes, there is a filter that needs to be cleaned periodically. We use the overnight dry cycle and the dishes are mostly dry in the morning, with the exception of plastic items. We haven't used the power dry cycle yet so I can't report on that function.

Yea it does have a filter at the bottom!

Yes, there is a filter below the lower rack. Clean the filters with a soft brush under running water. How often it needs to be cleaned is dependent on frequency of use. ^Daphane
