The Power Requirements as listed in the Specifications for the LG - 4.5 Cu. Ft. 8-Cycle High-Efficiency Top-Loading Washer - White, Model # WT1501CW on the LG site are 120 V, 5 Amps. The unit would require a 20 amp circuit breaker to handle the surge for amperage at start up and because codes require a dedicated 20 Amp circuit for laundry rooms and there cannot be another receptacle on that circuit. Appliances all have a nameplate on it that gives the maximum current draw but will not specify the running amps because that is dependent on various factors such as environmental temperature, chosen cycle and spin speeds and voltage. Keep in mind that the electricity coming into your home is a pure sinusoidal wave and alternates between values, hence the name Alternating Current (AC). If you want to find out the running amps, you would need an electricity usage monitor or tracker that tells you everything you want to know about your appliance behavior. The parameters are displayed on an LCD and include voltage, current, power consumption, kwh used, cost of running and run time of appliance. The Energy Guide sticker attached to this unit that you can also find on both the LG site and on the Best Buy site lists the Estimated Yearly Electricity Use as 140 kWh...^IFV
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.All electric motors have the FLA (full load amperage) on the data plate of the motor. For some reason LG does not want you to know this information. Of course the amperage were very with the load, but that's not what people were asking. Just tell people what the full load the machine uses like most reputable companies do. You should stop all the BS answering replies that don't tell anybody anything that they were trying to find out.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.It can only use so much power since it is 120 volts. Maximum amp draw has to be less than 15 amps or breaker would constantly trip. I guess if no one complains about power problems then no one feels it's that important when buying.
