A:AnswerI've owned 2 separate versions of the LG ventless washer/dryer. It really doesn't do well with very bulky items like quilts. Twin maybe, but definitely not our Cal King. I love this machine. You just need to be organized about your sorting and know which load is next, since it can dry half of a washed load. So frequent smaller loads are better. But since you don't have to move it from one box to another, you run a load while at work, run another load while doing dinner. Run another load overnight. It's easy. The one BIG downside is that no one can repair it!! It's YouTube and ordering parts. Even when it was under warranty LG had no one to send. The closest company it could recommend was over 50 miles away and they wouldn't even come if I paid extra for the travel time. You are on your own unless you call LG first and ask WHO repairs it and what their number is. Personally, I'm used to YouTube but I'm not sure I'll do it for the next machine. This kind of machine is very common in Europe, and I used it in an old building in VA where you couldn't punch dryer vents in the walls.
It does not make the room overly hot, but the dry cycle takes a little longer. The laundry does not come out wet but there is a moment where it feels damp because it's not baked dry. I just shake it out and it feels normal. Occasionally I have to air dry jeans if I washed them with thin shirts. Try to keep fabric types together. It's MUCH nicer on fabrics!! It's rough to clean dog hair out of, especially around the belt and especially if you have a golden retriever. Sigh.
Still, it's a great investment, a good move to save water, electricity, and not pump hot air into a 100 degree yard.
A:AnswerThis LG 4.5 Cu. Ft. 14-Cycle Washer and 12-Cycle Electric Dryer Combo with TurboWash® Technology - Black, Model # WM3998HBA should be plugged into a 120-VAC, 60 Hz grounded 3-prong outlet...^IFV
A:AnswerThe hot and cold water inlet valves on the LG 4.5 Cu. Ft. 14-Cycle Washer and 12-Cycle Electric Dryer Combo, Model # WM3998JBA are 3/4" diameter male connectors so if your kitchen or bathroom faucets can accommodate 3/4" connectors you will be able to connect them or you can look into using adapters if not. Your water supply pressure must be between 20 psi and 120 psi (138 – 827 kPa). If the water supply pressure is more than 120 psi, a pressure reducing valve must be installed. To provide optimum washing performance, the hot water temperature should be set at 120 – 130 °F (48 – 54 °C) and the cold at 60 °F (15 °C)...^IFV
A:AnswerWhen you start the machine up the lights assume you want to wash, but just push the Dry button and it assumes you want to spin and dry (normal). If you push the spin button it turns spin off, and you can change dry normal to dry 30 minutes or 60, whatever.
A:AnswerI have a previous generation model but it's very flexible. There's a 20 minute Quick Wash setting. You can do dry only, or spin & dry, Or wash only, or wash & dry (which spins dry first). Or you can just rinse and spin. There are a lot of ways to choose how it dries, too. By time (30, 60, 90, 120) or auto sense (normal, extra dry), or low temp. The only option it doesn't have is just air with no heat.
A:AnswerThe LG 4.5 cu.ft. Smart Wi-Fi Enabled All-In-One Washer/Dryer with TurboWash® Technology, Model # WM3998HBA has a slightly larger capacity than Model # WM3997HWA. It still uses a Ventless Condensing Drying System and unlike the WM3997HWA, it is a Wi-Fi enabled unit with LG Thinq® technology features such as SmartDiagnosis™ (v3.0), Remote Start and Cycle Monitor and Energy Monitoring. You have to keep in mind that the drying capacity for washers is twice that of the washing capacity so if you wash a full load in this machine just as with the WM3997HWA, you will need to take half on the load out for drying otherwise it will take longer to dry. That is why even with standalone matching washers and dryers, the dryers have almost twice the capacity of their matching washers.Any of our stand alone Front Load Washers with a capacity of 4.5 cubic feet will be similar to this combo unit...^IFV
A:AnswerThis washer/dryer is ventless. warm dry air is blown into the drum where it picks up moisture from the wet clothes. Now the warm moist air is pushed to a condenser where the air is cooled and therefore loses moisture. The water goes into the sump where it's pumped into the drain. The now cool dry air goes back to be heated again and pushed back into the drum. I assume that the heat transfer from the condenser is used to reheat the air to keep energy cost down. It's a closed loop system. I will tell you that while the unit has settings for normal (auto), turbo (a bit quicker auto), and timed (the user can set how long) the unit does not have a temperature control for drying. If you need low temperature for drying I suggest that you just wash without using the dryer function and move the load to a dryer with temp control or hang dry. I like the washer/dryer because it's perfect for starting a load right before going to bed and waking up in the morning with the clothes washed and dry. You don't even tell it how big of a load you have. It determines that itself. Also being an He washer it doesn't take as much detergent, fabric softener, or bleach as a standard washer. I hope this helps with your questions
A:AnswerYes! I am very happy with this washer/dryer. It saves me so much space in my tiny laundry room, giving me room to keep dirty clothes next to it and a clear walkway in front of it. When you run a cycle in this washer you actually have to push dry if you want it to dry after washing, so it won’t just run a dry cycle unexpectedly. I only line dry my clothes and use the dry cycle to fluff them, so the dry cycle can also be used independently.
A:AnswerWe have it 9 inches from the wall, but you could probably get it in a bit tighter. You just want to leave at least 6 inches away; so it's not bent near the connections. NOTE: It's pulled out from the wall because I literally found out yesterday after 7 months of ownership...you have to clean the lint trap in the front bottom right of the machine at least once a quarter. I wasn't great about it with the regular washer by lg that i had from 2006, but since this drains water thru the drain plug/filter during the drying cycle, the lint gets hard and matted together.
A:AnswerHi, If the clothes is having a smell after wash, please do a tub cleaning, wipe the gasket and leave the door open, if not resolved, please call our customer service at 1-800-243-0000 or reach out our support in Facebook @LGUSSupport and use #VOC , provide the model, date of purchase and issue of the unit. ^Vanessa
A:AnswerYou can use the Add garment function to to add garments or remove foreign objects like coins or keys after the cycle has started. Pressing Add Garments pauses the cycle and the door unlocks. To resume the cycle press Star/Pause. The cycle continues automatically. ^Daphane
A:AnswerA capacity of 3.8 cubic feet is considered as being large enough to accommodate most King Size comforters depending on their fluffiness. At 4.5 cubic feet, the LG 4.5 Cu. Ft. 14-Cycle Washer and 12-Cycle Electric Dryer Combo - Black Steel, Model # WM3998HWA will accommodate most, if not all King Size comforters. You should be able to load the comforter on the washer without having to stuff it in so it gets an efficient and thorough wash performance. If you have to stuff the comforter into the drum, it will not get washed properly....^IFV
A:Answerevery load a large load of towels wash and dried goes about 3 1/2 hrs total for both but the machine is whisper quiet and very efficient. If you one to let laundry pile up all week this won't be the machine for you i my self do a load every few days and it works perfect for me as its connected thru the lg thin q app on my phone and ot alerts me when its done.....
I love this machine
