Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.To the first part, the WebOS used by LG was acquired from HP. It is not the same as Android, though uses many of its services, including apps and store. Your box has only 1080p output, so 4k is not an option. I have the same issue with AppleTV, although movies look great with the built in upscaling. I am only guessing, but since you use a different input and even remote, your box will likely work.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.This TV runs LG webOS 3.0 (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/WebOS). It is Linux based, like Android, but doesn't have the same apps. It is DLNA capable, if that's your aim. I stream movies from a USB stick connected to my Asus router and it works great.
