The CX and GX are identical in every way, the G in the GX stands for Gallery; LG Gallery series don’t come with a stand, is only meant to wall mount. However, The CX comes with a stand in the box.

Yep, the CX can display any images or video from your storage devices, if you have a external usb, or even a media server. And it does have the option to do a slide show if you wanted to. If the GX is running the latest LG WebOS, it should be on your home button and its the icon that looks like a mountain
