“Can I use an external (my own) microphone with this webcam?”

The camera itself has a built-in mic but does not have a microphone port or jack for an external mic. However, I use my external mic by connecting my mic into my computer thru USB and then connecting my webcam into the computer via its USB. I then make sure my external mic is set to record into Audacity audio recording software (which is free) and I also disable the camera's built-in mic in the video recording software when I select the camera input.
