With in-store purchase, Office 365 was included for 1-year (at the time of my purchase). After that, it is up to you to either continue to subscribe or purchase.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Microsoft Surface Pro 4 does not come with a free Office Suite, so at the very least, if you want Microsoft Office, you need to have a license. It's pretty easy to buy a one-year subscription, which includes a terabyte of storage on OneDrive, a very good deal. Considering Apple gives away its office products - Pages, Numbers, Keynote, etc. - but charges $9.99 per month (or $120.00 annually) for a terabyte of iCloud storage, the $69.99 annual price for a personal Office 365 license is pretty reasonable. Also, MS Office provides up -to-date versions of desktop versions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote, Publisher and Access, plus 60 minutes of Skype time a month. Another option is to see if your workplace has a license they can provide for home use. If you don't like the idea of "renting" Office for a yearly fee, you can buy a basic license (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote) for a one-time $149.99 fee.
