- Answer Either way. It is depends on your active use time. If there is no movement of the mouse it will automatically shut off. If you wish to turn it off yourself you can do that also.

- Answer as long as there is a USB port, it will work. The mouse comes with a small chip that is inserted in the laptop so that it works wireless.

- Answer The default function of the side button is "browser page back." If you use Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard Center though, you can rebind this button to do a bunch of different things.
