A:AnswerYes and No, its not an active gps with a screen. It links to your phone with an app. Your phone acts as the gps. You can download a gps map of an area in advance and locate yourself on it without a cell signal.
A:AnswerIt depends on who would be using the radios and where they are while using them and what time of day or night they are using it. Can they wake up at 3 amp in an emergency and figure out how to use it? There are radios with a lot of buttons and frequencies, and some with few buttons and some radios with audible notifications that will tell you what channel you are on or tell you if you change to another channel, which wold be handy at night or in a foggy or smoke environment, but not so good if the user is hiding and wants to remain silent. These T-800 radios work like a typical moderate to easy to use radio. They can also be Bluetooth to a cellphone, download the app and if cell service is out or cell towers out of range, you can use the app on your cellphone to text message others in your group with the same type T-800 radio connected to their own cellphone, that is also running the app. You can also see where each person on the app map in your group, as long as they have a radio connected to their cellphone with the app running. We own three sets of these, so we have six of these radios. They can be used like a normal radios if they are connected to your cellphone of not. The range of any radios are always based on the location (mountains, flat lands, in a city with tall buildings or on a lake or ocean on boats, around electronics that can affect reception). Obviously on flat open areas like flat desert or in large fields or on water they should work to maximum range.
A:AnswerNo! The T-800 radios work the same as a radio if they are connected to your cellphone using the text communication feature and group location map app or not connected. We have six of these T-800 and can use them either connected or not connected.
A:AnswerThese Motorola T-800 radios work like radios if they are connected to a cellphone to use the text communication features and map location feature or not connected. I would suspect they can be used in construction as long as the users do not abuse them. Max range is based on area they are used in. In a skyscraper they may not work as well if someone is on the ground floor and someone is in a lift 30 stories up and someone is in a bathroom on the 76th floor. Someone may not get through to the others. If however you walk to the windows to talk, then you will likely hear each other. Also if the glass is not in the building yet, you will likely hear each other anywhere in the building. If in a subdivision, it depends on where the workers are. If at the same house or on the same block, yes, if 30 or 50 houses away, maybe not, unless you step out into the yard or on the roof. We have six of these radios and use them with the app and without. They work as radios if they are connected to the cellphones or not connected. I can send a group text message and then use the radio to talk to an individual. You do not need the app or connect them to your cellphone for them to work. It is just a feature if the cell towers go down or are out of range. 35 mile range means flat open terrain unobstructed. Also other electronic devices and buildings and wall material type can affect their range.
A:AnswerNo it does not include a headset of any kind. Both units do come with a belt clip that requires a standard belt width seen in photo. I would refrain from using the 2.5mm single port on top of each unit and switch to the app and have your phone at the steering column. I would assume you will just tear the cable with body movements on the road.
A:AnswerYes it comes with both the one charger and two packs of rechargeable 3.6V ( basically 3 AA’s attached together ) one for each unit. Yes the included power adapter can charge both units at the same time and it is part of the two pack T800
A:AnswerOne is Blue & Black T-800 and the ohter is Green & Black T-801. Both models are extremely alike, setting aside the colors that they come with. This being said, it is no surprise that there isn’t exactly any difference between their set-up procedures. Setting up the T800 and the T801 is extremely easy, even to a beginner. Its basic functions are also relatively easy to understand and perform. To start up both devices, all you need to do is place the battery inside the radio by opening the hatch located at the back. After doing so, you may proceed to turn on the device via the power knob.
Both are FRS and GMRS capable so for the use of the GMRS channels a license is needed.
Both ** Yes, if GMRS channels will be used (FCC license) **
