This unit will not support the phone part of the package. If however, you disconnect the phone service it will work fine for your internet service. I connacted Xfinity and change/upgraded my package eliminating the phone portion and increasing internet speed for about the same amount I was paying before.

The Netgear C7000 cable modem can replace the one supplied by Comcast however it will not work for the telephone system, only the cable and internet. I actually have Time Warner and just replaced theirs with this one and it works great. TW took the $10 off my monthly bill for the rental of their modem. Here's the strange part: I had to keep their modem for my telephone system to work (at no charge). This required me adding a cable splitter feeding both modems, the old one for the phone and the new one for all other. Please check with Comcast to verity they do the same practice!

Yes, it works with xfinity and you will save $10 a month. You wont be able to use your telephone with this modem doesnt have the telephone jack but its an upgrade compared to the xfinity cable modem

Yes, this will work with Comcast, but I think depending on your area, you may be receiving Comcast as a Cable or DSL Service. If you have a DSL service, you will have an ethernet plug for your incoming internet. If it is a cable service, your internet will be coming from a normal coaxial cable connection (just like plugged into your TV for normal cable TV.) This router will work with a Cable providers so if you are considering replacing, make sure you are receiving internet through a coaxial cable. I attached pictures of the different cable types so you can compare which connection type you find in your house. Make sure you are recieving internet over a coaxial cable. You can also call your Internet provider to confirm if any device is compatible with your service. Assuming you have the cable service, it is very easy to set up and will save you the $10 extra monthly charge. Ive been using it for about a month now, and it works great!

Yes, You can buy your own modem and get rid of the monthly rent. I just purchased the modem from Best Buy and using it with my Comcast internet and not paying any monthly rent.
