A:AnswerThe Nikon D5300 does come in 3 different colors: red, black, and grey. If you would like to change the color and you are still within your return period of 15 days you can exchange your camera for one of the available colors.
If you are My Best Buy Elite, you will have 30 days for the exchange
If you are My Best Buy Elite Plus, you will have 45 days for the exhange
(from the date of purchase)
A:AnswerThe camera comes with an EN-EL14a battery. It is a larger capacity battery but the older EN-EL14 that came with my D5100 works great in the 5300, it just does not last quite as long. The chargers are all the same.
A:AnswerThe Nikon D5300 DSLR camera supports autofocus with AF-S and AFI CPU lenses only. AF-S lenses have names beginning with AF-S and AF-I lenses have names beginning with AF-I. Autofocus is not supported with other autofocus (AF) lenses. The AF-S DX NIKKOR Zoom 18-140mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR lens, which is included in this kit, will have full autofocus capabilities when used with the Nikon D5300.
A:AnswerYes, but not from Bestbuy. You can get one from Nikon for about $150 that covers you for 2 years. Problem with Bestbuy warranty is that it may void your warranty if the repair shop they use (or company) is not certified with Nikon. I would spend the extra $30-$50 and just get the warranty from Nikon. Only downside to that is you have to mail your camera in when it needs service, but at least you know the mfr is doing the repairs. If you're spending $500+ on a camera, the extra $50 is definitely worth it. The Nikon warranty does not cover accidental damage though, so consider that too. Mfr defects only. But honestly, I've had 3 Nikons, and never used the warranty (standard or extended).
