I feel that BB just tells you when you call in or open a chat, that you'll get preferential treatment and "first shot" at buying one if you're a member ... but, they said the same thing for the 3000 & 4000 series, and literally less than 1 minute after the sale goes live, all are out of stock while you're waiting for your page to refresh. BestBot doesn't care about their consumer customers, only the total # of sales.

I was scammed by a Best Buy Rep, he told me if I sign up for the Plus membership I WILL have early access to order a RTX 5090, and it's looking like that is definitely not the case as it's now Monday and no option to order or buy and the full release is on Thursday. My advice to anyone is DO NOT sign up thinking you'll get early access.

I also got scammed by a Best Buy Rep on trying to buy this card pre-sale. I can't believe I fell for signing up for Best Buy Plus. I asked when it would it be available in store and was told I could "secure" it by the 27th if I signed up for Best Buy Plus.

To answer you question.. no. Launch time 9AM PST came and went. As a member, with "exclusive" access. There was no preorder, there was no line priority. You click add to cart, and watch the screen go from "you're in line!", wait roughly 3 minutes, then see a sold out button.

But there is a bright side to waiting for that long for nothing.. you get to think about how best buy jipped you into paying for a yearly membership for nothing. Why dont they just put your name on a waiting list? That wOUlD bE toO sIMplE!

Balance out that anyone who knows how hard and ugly the scramble is for this card will be, that they will discourage people to make their chance 1/100000th bit better vs. this is best buy you are talking about. Your maybe at best getting a tiny advantage in this ecosystem. Likely not worth it. Your up against bots and fanatics etc etc to really stand a chance your going to have to spam everything, bb, Amazon etc the minute you can and still it's gonna be luck if you land one. Tbh, people are correct when they say the pricey features are being pushed on us for us to fund development before they are even that effective in use and half the gamers out there turn off the fancy stuff to get fps if that's the kinda game they play. The real benefit here is bragging rights or that 32g if vram if you really do something that NEEDS it

I am a best buy member for 1 year and I can tell you its a scam except for the no interest on purchases.
other than that there is no benefit at all.
and customer support is in India and they are full of you know what, UPS lost one of my orders a month ago and I have yet to get a refund after 2 reps from there told me I got the refund. 
Luckily I used paypall and they are holding them accountable

I then confirmed with multiple online service reps

i used chat and they basically told me to pound sand by using a copy paste response.   I got on 5 min before launch and got one.  I know i'm one of the few and i'd like to say it was due to my diligence but i know it was purely luck.

Crypto ruined the 30 launch and AI seems to be the enemy here.  Oh, and Nvidia is the worlds most profitbnle company and could care less about normal people.  Even die hard old school gamers like myself that have been gaming since DOS get no love lol

If you just recently bought the membership get a refund, you have 60 days from purchase and will receive a pro rated rate depending on how long its been. if it was just recently you will likely get a full refund. best buy reps saying you can pay to win is uncalled for, get your money back.

I was told by a BestBuy rep as well that having a Plus membership would give you a preorder chance before they went live... Yeah that was a bunch of BS. I got in the queue 3x with the first putting a 5090 in my cart only to open cart to it saying error and cart being empty when i loaded.

Looks like i might have been scammed also.   Rep told me the same thing,  but not I'm not seeing much evidence of this.   If scalpers will pay the plus price,  then i think it will hinder them to some degree.   I'm unsure why Best Buy won't do this.

no, there isn't it's a scam by bestbuy... I didn't even get the email notification or launch information. Top things off the 5090 in my cart their website crashed, and I lost my allocation spending countless try's to send them my money... They really need to have these in store on launch day and have it so the people that actually use these products for their livelihoods can get them vs some random person that's going to be using this to play cyberpunk and video games. I'm really disgusted by how BestBuy handles launches. Honestly, it's the last thing I have their card for and at this rate I'm going to just shred the thing. For being the only founders launch partner you'd think they would have their faculties together...

A rep also told me that buying the Gold membership would get me early access.

Regardless, I added this item to cart in the first 60 seconds of launching, my iPhone app has been stuck on the "You're In Line!" screen where it says it will verify my account and check for inventory.

On a separate device, I try adding to the cart and it says it's already sold out.

I don't know if this means that I'm still eligible to buy if I keep waiting, but this is the worst method to prevent scalpers and BestBuy knows it.

Micro Center at least forced people to buy in person and wait in line. A much better method. I feel this is deliberately done, but we'll see.
