QuestionBattery were low power , plugged charger cord into power and unit is flashing on screen PC.. What dose this mean ? Wife trashed all paper work with box unit came in.. Thank you..

- Answer Yes, you can. It's easy to do from the recorder or from your PC when they're connected.

QuestionWhen recording my voice with this device how do I record from where I left off?

- Answer You can't. While my WS-853 has a Pause function, this doesn't. But, depending upon your needs, this isn't a big obstacle. I yesterday had to make 3 separate recordings, but was able to transcribe them all in Dragon, and it successively combined the text from each one into the same transcription window. So the separate files weren't a handicap.

- Answer The recorder must be turned on manually to record and will not be recording automatically. It must also be manually shut off.

QuestionHow easy is it to turn On & Off? My last other-brand was always very difficult.

- Answer -It is pretty simple. There is a slide switch that turns the device ON and starts a new recording. You can then use the same switch to stop the recording But it leaves the device powered up. there is a separate button to Push and hold to POWER DOWN

- Answer This is a longshot - but mine is doing the same thing. It flashes PC on the recorder, but my computer isn't recognizing the device anywhere. My computer doesn't seem to recognize that there is even anything plugged into the usb. I've tried multiple cables and multiple computers - all with the same result... the recorder flashes PC, but nothing else happens.

- Answer No There is no Pause function while recording. on this Model Pause is only available during Playback

- Answer I just checked mine.. there is a tiny delete button, under and to the right of the (-) button on the oval. If you mistakenly hit the black delete button, make sure the NO is flashing and hit the center play/pause button. This will tell the unit Not to delete the last recording.. hope this helps..

- Answer It is difficult to say what kind of results you will achieve with a recorder hidden in you pants pocket. Olympus recorders are designed for use with no obstruction in front of the microphone.

- Answer No software is included or required to download or play the files on a Windows based system. If you have a MAC you will need a third party software application such as SWITCH PLAYER that supports the playback of WMA files.
