To summarize refurbished has a 90 day warranty, unopened has a 2 year warranty assuming normal use. The Philips text doesn’t explicitly state “original retail purchaser”, but manufacturers typically take the position that refurbishing makes the refurbisher the maker of the refurbished product and therefore responsible for its quality and workmanship instead of the original maker. Geek Squad Certified Refurbished - “To prove we believe in our ability to refurbish these products, we back up all our Certified Refurbished items with our 90-day Limited Warranty” Unopened Philips Hue - “Signify warrants that this device will be free from defects in material and workmanship and will operate for 2 years and 3 years for Energy Star certified products, unless a different period is stated in or on the packaging of the product, based on up to 3 hours average working time per day/7 days per week, when used as directed. If this device does not conform to the warranty, Signify will send you, at its election, a replacement device or refund your original price upon receipt of the returned device, register receipt and proof of purchase. Please call our toll-free number, 1-800-555-0050, or write to us (address indicated on the packaging) to find out how to return the device. This limited warranty does not cover devices subject to accident, neglect, abuse, misuse or acts of God. REPLACEMENT OR REFUND IS YOUR SOLE REMEDY. EXCEPT TO THE EXTENT PROHIBITED BY APPLICABLE LAW, ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES ARE LIMITED IN DURATION TO THE DURATION OF THIS WARRANTY. LIABILITY FOR INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES IS HEREBY EXPRESSELY EXCLUDED. Some states and provinces do not allow exclusion of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state and province to province. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. They don't actually do anything to fix the item after it was returned. If it was returned because it couldn't connect. they just send it out to you as "renewed" so you can bang your head against a wall like the original purchasers did. Don't get this renewed item, you're only asking for pain.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Don't buy it! I did and it stopped working after a couple of weeks. Tried to exchange but they wouldn't accept it.
