- Answer Not without an amplifier. To go right from a tv you would need speakers with a built in amp.

- Answer I wouldn't worry about too much power what you should be worried about is under powering them and clipping your amp will take them out 100x quicker than over powering them! I have used these speakers on many types of amp from 80 watts a ch to a pair of 1000w monoblocks with NO issues at all. They really like power

Question6 ohms impedance speakers w/ 8 ohms ampI currently have a 10 yr. old amp (Pioneer VSX-D812) and looking at these Pioneer Floor Speakers, which are 6 ohm impedance. The manual notes w/ an 'Important' icon: "Use speakers with a nominal impedance of 8 ohms to 16 ohms". Is that a recommendation? Do you foresee any issues w/ this set-up? Thanks for any responses and advice.

- Answer I am using an old Onkio amp that pumps out 8 ohms and these 6 ohm speakers sound great, no sweat for your amp to power these speakers, my 8 ohm amp sounds great!

- Answer These are not "powered" speakers... you'd need an amp or receiver to hook them up to either of the items you mention.

QuestionI have hooked the speakers up to a NAD 916 power amp but without blasting them I haven't been able to detect any sound other than low slight vibrations coming from the lower two speakers. Is it possible the wiring has come unstuck in transit?

- Answer Yes, 16 gauge will work for short runs. I use standard lamp cord or zip cord bought at hardware store off a spool. It's cheaper, way thicker & is perfect for runs longer than 20 feet. Oh & a manual isn't needed. The back of the SP-SF52 Tower speaker has it's specs and info listed on a tag. ~ peace

- Answer They have 5 way binding posts. They can connect to bare wire, banana connectors, flat connectors and just about any other aftermarket connector.

- Answer Yes, these would be the front channel in your situation. Even just these and a receiver would be far superior to tv speakers. Ideally these plus a center channel, 2 surround speakers and a subwoofer would rock your house down for movies and music. GL you are stepping into a fun hobby, you can take it as far as you want, e.g. Some speakers cost over 20k a pair. These speakers in the 5.1 ( has these plus 4 other pieces ) package are like 599 or something and they will rumble your house down if you want.

QuestionCan you wire in another pair of speakersCan you wire in another pair of speakers to these speajers? My TV only has the one audio output l/r but I want 4 speakers attached and wd also like to add a center speaker. I have them kook ed up that way right now, and they sound great but didn't want to blow them up.

- Answer These are designed to be run in a surround sound system. In other words you need an av reciever to power the speakers.
