Had the same problem. I had not pushed through until I heard the click. Once I did that, the thumb drive showed up on the screen.

Make sure you are using the correct format.  Most of the time based on my experience, Fat32 is required format for my TV's.

Check to see what format your tv and blu-ray player plays. I put a video on my flash drive and it plays fine on both tv and blu-ray player

it worked for me. Maybe you got a bad batch. I would contact either Bestbuy or PNY or both. I'm sure they will try to help.

I learned that when "opening" this, keep pushing the cover down until there's a second "click" to complete the opening.  Then it works great.
