A:AnswerYou do have to sign into a Netflix account and you have to sign up for Roku (create an account) and that requires you to attach a credit card or PayPal account. I don't think there is a way around that.
A:AnswerAs long as you can log onto the streaming sites (Netflix, Prime, Hulu..etc) on multiple devices then you should be able to use individual Roku on each devise
A:AnswerNope. In fact, if you have one you're not likely to get much use out of this.
This is basically all the "smart" features of a TV packed into an external unit so that you can turn any screen into a smart TV.
A:AnswerRemove.the batteries, put them back, don't put the cover yet and press the purple button in the remote next to the end of the batteries for 5 seconds to re-boot it.
Good luck!
A:AnswerI have both, and there's not much difference. The FireStick makes you download apps to watch anything other than Amazon content, while the ROKU has some preinstalled and other "channels" that can be added like the apps. Also, my FireStick sits behind my TV, which interfered with my WiFi signal, so I had to get a short extender to drop it below the TV, something I did not need to do with this.
I use Amazon, Netflix, and Hulu on both devices with no problem. The remote on the ROKU has buttons to take me to the one I want to watch, which is convenient.
A:AnswerHave you tried changing the HDMI cable? Those can go out randomly. If you aren't having problems with other devices on those ports. Try changing to a cord that already know works and if that doesn't work, replace the device.
A:AnswerAny TV with both an HDMI input AND a USB port to power the device - you can use a cell phone's USB power plug if there's no USB. Probably need a longer mini-usb to USB cable to reach a power outlet. Alternatively you might want to consider the Roku Express+ version that supports the older TV's using composite (RCA) connections.
There are two more concerns for Hotels:
(1) Making a WiFi internet connection since the mid to high end Hotels use proxy servers to restrict Free access to only registered guests. You will have to contact the specific hotel to find out their WiFi service supports devices that do not have a web browser. Alternative solution - using your smart phone as WiFi hot spot - not recommended unless you are already paying for unlimited Data.
(2) whether you can access the TV function to change input sources - I recommend bringing a universal remote with an input source selection button.
Good luck!
