The ME18H704SFS and other Samsung Over the Range Microwaves come ready to vent internally, or can be set up to vent outside through the top or rear of the unit with the addition of the vent duct parts which are sold separately. Please refer to the installation instructions that can be downloaded from Samsung's website for details on what parts you may need for your home. Thank you, Ms. Samsung

There is a rectangular fitting that snaps onto the top of the microwave that conforms to a standard vent, although it was in a different location than the previous microwave. I just had to re-saw the hole in the shelf above the microwave to match up with its location on the microwave. Be sure to install the fitting on the microwave before you lift it into place, otherwise you'll end up taking it down to install it.

Yes it does come with a kit, but microwave only you will need purchase other items if u do not have already have a outside vent installed
