- Answer There is a circle knob between the two crisp drawers. it has lock and unlock written on it. Just unlock it and pull it out then put in new one turn and lock. So easy. Hope this helps

QuestionIs there an ice maker in the bottom freezer or a way to hold ice?I see some models have the option to have ice distributed both in the top through the door and in the freezer on bottom. Does this have a lot of ice output or a place to put ice into easily?

QuestionHow can I adjust the size of the letterings when writing memos?

- Answer There are three different font sizes that can be selected prior to typing the letters. To choose the size, press the "T" at the top right of the screen to indicate you're using the keyboard rather than the stylus option to write, then choose one of the three circles to the right of the memo pad indicating small, medium or large size font. Once you've typed in a particular size it can't be changed but you can erase and start over or use a different size for the next item you type. Thanks for the question, Ms. Samsung

- Answer Thanks for the question. The Energy Saver feature disables the low-wattage heater between the doors on Samsung's French Door refrigerators which helps to conserve a small amount of energy. If there is enough moisture in the air in your kitchen to cause condensation to form between the doors of the fridge, then I would suggest turning the Energy Saver feature off. The best way to conserve energy is to keep the fridge and freezer closed as much as possible, avoid using the Power Freeze and Power Cool options if they aren't necessary, and keep the fridge and freezer set at or close to the recommended 38ºF and -2ºF, respectively, for this model. - Ms. Samsung

QuestionDoes this model have an option of type of ice that it makes?For instance if one day I wanted crushed ice then the next day cubed does it have that option?

- Answer Yes, the RF4289HARS can dispense either cubed or crushed ice, and you can switch back and forth simply by pressing a button on the control panel. Thanks for your interest, Ms. Samsung

QuestionRF4289HARS Discontinued?At a Best Buy tonight, the RF4289HARS showed as "deleted" in the computer system, which means discontinued. There are only a limited number available in the warehouse. I was told when these are gone, Best Buy will not be getting any more. This is in Minnesota, Best Buy's home state. When will the replacement for the RF4289HARS be available? Or has Samsung decided not to make a 4 door, french door refrigerator with LCD/wifi/apps features? I thought it might just be a computer error, since it just came out 4 months ago. However, the refrigerator does appear elsewhere on the internet as discontinued as well. Thanks. David

- Answer The RF4289HARS is not currently available in a 33" wide version with the LCD screen and WiFi. The 33" RF4267HARS does have many of the same features as the RF4289HARS, including the Flex Zone Drawer, flexible shelving, LED lighting and a premium LED control panel, but no LCD, WiFi or Apps. Questionare you able to purchase just the LCD to upgrade last years model to LCD?As you can tell I purchased the RF4287 last year and would really like to be able to add the new functionality. Are you able to purchase the LCD control and would you be able to connect to the older fridge?

- Answer Thank you for the question. Unfortunately, the parts used for the RF4289 are not interchangeable with the RF4287, despite the similarities in appearance. - Ms. Samsung

- Answer Software updates are likely to involve changes to or expansion of the Apps menu and possible integration of the Smart Grid energy management technology when it becomes available, though it's possible there could be changes to other functions, as well. I can't tell you how often these updates might occur, but when they do an icon appears on the main screen to make you aware of it. Thanks for the question! Ms. Samsung

- Answer Yes, The refrigerator has 4 shelves inside. One is stack and does not slide One is narrow next to the icemaker and flips UP for tall objects The bottom LEFt shef slides out The bottom RIGHT shelf is split level and the front half slides BACK which allows you to place taller items on the crisper draw directly below it.

I would suggest referring to the Troubleshooting section of the User Manual to review some of the tips for re-establishing the connection. Questionhow do you unfreeze the touch screen?I have the model rf4287ha and I can't get the touch screen to work. I just got it today. The manual says to hold the power cold and power save buttons at the same time but that is not working.

- Answer Thanks for the question. If the RF4287HARS is in "Cooling Off" or "Demo" mode, you can release it by pressing the Energy Saver and Power Freeze buttons for at least 3 seconds. It's very important to press the buttons at exactly the same time, and hold them for at least the full amount of time. If you continue to have difficulty deactivating this mode, please call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you. - Ms. Samsung

QuestionLCD Screen and WiFi capability...Can the newer rf4289 LCD Screen, WiFi, speakers, etc be fitted to the RF4287HARS? if so what parts are needed to complete the task? What part numbers are they? And please be honest and support the answer with facts... J & J part cannot locate any part #'s for the 4289 yet; however the physical dimensions and display units are identical. Thanks in Advance. Adam
