Yes....the original only lasted 3 mos, redesigned icemaker lasted just under a year for me. Frustrating!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I'm told they have. I just replaced one of those old ones (mine was only 2 years old). I've had this one for a couple of weeks. So far it's still noisy when it drops ice, like the old one, but the ice seems ok. In my old one the ice always had frost on it. However, I am having a technician come to look at it for a noise when the icemaker is filling. I don't know yet if it's air in the line that won't clear or something else. When I bought this one I decided to buy the extended warranty (which I never do) just in case. Glad I did, just in case.

As it fills it is less of an issue. My issue it that the ice no longer comes out cubed. It is always crushed even if I select the cubed option. The crushed is messy and bits of frost and ice stay in the chute and melt, dripping into the drip tray and down the side of the fridge. Also I prefer the large cubes. The repairman came out and asked us for some olive oil to lubricate a part in there to fix it. Seemed very odd. First that there isn't some kind of synthetic oil that is better than olive oil? Also why not bring your own supply if we didn't have? Well sadly when the first new batch of ice was made and we selected cubed, sure enough it came out crushed. Now we wait another two weeks for a repair person to show up, if he does (but that's another story). Do yourself a favor and try another brand. I think the positive reviews are lucky people or bots.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Beware!! Read the reviews on the ice machine. They have done nothing and NOBODY will help you out. The ice machines have real problem that cannot be repaired.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.NO!! Ongoing problem with Samsung fridges - On mine, ice maker has frozen over twice in 1.5 years. Options are to leave the fridge door open to defrost it (2 days) or pay over $300 for service (that is for the part, not the labor). This is evidently an ongoing problem with Samsung fridges - Google this before you buy.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I'm told they fixed the problem. I called Samsung after 3+ years of dealing with this. They're very aware of the issue. They were extremely accommodating. Sent repairman who replaced entire board. No charge. Seems to be working now, but it's only been a couple months since repair.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Samsung has ABSOLUTELY NOT redesigned or improved any part of the icemaker that's going to make any real difference in safety, functionality and/or longevity. PLEASE research these disasters before you buy!! Buyer beware doesn't do it justice. Save yourself months (if not years) of heartache and frustration, not to mention tedious defrost procedures and probable food loss. Stick with Kitchen Aid or Bosch. You won't be sorry.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No they have not. It breaks. Constantly we have an ice maker on the counter do not buy this fridge
