• A:Answer The Samsung Dryer has a Steam clothes option that you can setup if you choose too. The book states that this steam function would work for Dry Clean only clothing. We did not get the water hose option with ours as we only had one pipe available in the laundry room for the washer and we did not want to try and connect both units to the one source for fear of possible leaks.

• A:Answer No. It has to be a dryer outlet. The dryer is set up for either 3 or 4 wire plug cord which you have to purchase separately. So, if your dryer outlet has 3 holes then you want to buy a 3 wire plug cord.

• A:Answer Hi Harry, Yes, a Semi-Rigid Dryer vent with clamps will work with this Samsung dryer; however, it is recommended to use rigid exhausts. A 3-prong dryer cord will work with this dryer model plugged into a 30 Ampere receptacle. No, the y-connector and the short water hose are not supplied with this model, only with DVE50R5400 or DVG50R5400 models. The y-connector and short water hose are not required but are recommended to be used when supplied. Leo

The pedestal is compatible because it is built for 27-inch-wide washers and dryers. However, we do not recommend installing it on the front-load dryer model DVE50R5200W since it will raise the dryer's height from 46 to 60 inches. You may have challenges reaching the control panel due to the increased height. We recommend using a riser to elevate the dryer model's height by up to 4 inches. However, there will be no storage drawer. Q: QuestionWhy would the dryer turn off in 5 minutes no matter what dryer setting I have it on. Is there a time setting? How can I diagnostic it with my phone? It heats up but not for more than 5 minutes then goes to cool down.

• A:Answer Normal setting has wet sensors and it will turn off if the setting is on less dry or if the garments no longer feel wet. I tend to use quick dry more because it doesn’t go by the dryers “sensors” and runs until it reaches the allotted time. To use timer settings it has to be on quick dry and select time to dry. I don’t know about phone diagnostics, I haven’t tried it with the dryer but know it’s useless with the washer so I doubt I’ll bother.

Q: QuestionBought this dryer and it appeared to work ok. We find that it shuts off prematurely. The timer says 42 minutes and it shuts off in 2 minutes. Clothes still damp. Instructions call for a water connection? Didn’t get that hose and Y connector. help!
